ABOUT
Philip Jackmauh is an attorney and leasing company executive delivering over 25 years’ experience in international commercial aircraft leasing and finance. Philip provides his clients with a unique combination of extensive in-house, hands-on leasing experience along with his multi-faceted legal expertise in achieving and delivering target legal and commercial solutions and results.

Philip started his legal career in private practice in Washington, DC, before moving in-house with Pegasus Aviation in San Francisco, and then joining AWAS Aviation Capital Ltd. in Dublin following its acquisition of Pegasus Aviation.

Prior to founding Wheelock Advisors LLC, Philip directed AWAS’ legal operations as General Counsel beginning in 2008 through completion of the post-merger integration in 2018 of AWAS and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd.
As a member of AWAS’ Executive Leadership Team in leading the legal function from 2008 to 2017, Philip assembled a globally dispersed in-house team, and managed and directed the structuring, drafting, negotiation and closings of over 400 aircraft and engine purchase, sale, lease and financing transactions, representing US$18B+ in combined aggregate acquisition, sales, and financing activity, enabling AWAS’ growth to a peak of 318 aircraft and US$11.7B in assets, including over 150 new order Airbus / Boeing aircraft and associated leases and financing.

Over his career, Philip has managed, negotiated, and structured in aggregate over US$15.0B in asset-based acquisition financing, including syndicated term loans and 144A secured / unsecured bonds, warehouse credit facilities, conduit facilities, limited recourse loans, secured and unsecured revolving credit facilities, asset backed securitizations, JOLCO’s, ECA / EXIM facilities, and multiple PDP credit facilities.

Philip is a graduate of Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, and earned his JD from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, he completed the LLM (Taxation) program at Georgetown University Law Center, Washington DC.
Philip is a member of the bars of Massachusetts, California, and the District of Columbia.
Philip currently resides in the New York City metropolitan area.
